Zaida del Rio, a graduate of the Higher Institute of Art in Cuba (ISA) in 1987 and the School of Fine Arts in Paris (L’Ecole des Beaux Arts) in 1989, stands out as one of the most important figures of the so-called 70s generation. She is a versatile artist who has successfully dabbled in various forms of art. Her work is loaded with spirituality and mysticism, poetry and lyricism. Skill in drawing and mastery of color are the most explicit characteristics of her figurative nature. Her themes, inspired by her travel experiences, her religious universe, and above all, her roots, have allowed her to create a very particular cosmogony of images that distinguish her, with nature and her surroundings occupying an important place. The represented graphic work summarizes this creator's ability to translate her possibilities as a draftsman into the world of engraving. Zaida del Rio, graduada del Instituto Superior de Arte de Cuba (ISA) en 1987 y de la Escuela de Bellas Artes de París (L’Ecole des Beaux Arts) en 1989, se destaca como una de las figuras más importante de la llamada generación de los 70s.Es una artista versátil que ha incursionado con acierto en varias manifestaciones del arte. Posee una obra cargada de espiritualidad y misticismo, de poesía y Lirismo. Destreza en el dibujo y manejo del color son las características más explicitas de su naturaleza figurativa, sus temáticas inspiradas en sus experiencias de viajes, su universo religioso y sobre todo sus raíces le han permitido generar una cosmogonía de imágenes muy particular que la distinguen, ocupando un importante lugar la naturaleza y su entorno. La obra gráfica representada, resume la habilidad de esta creadora para transcribir sus posibilidades como dibujante al mundo del grabado. El grabado fue realizado en la Escuela Nacional de Arte de Cuba , (ENA)
