Description: A rare original WW2 RAF map for use with the "GEE" (Radio) Navigational System during the ITALIAN CAMPAIGN. The "GEE" system was a highly accurate radio 'triangulation' method of navigation which was ideal for pinpointing targets on night time bombing missions. Features ROME, NAPLES, the GULF of SALERNO, TARANTO, FLORENCE etc Security designation - "SECRET" "GEE" charts are incredibly rare navigational aids and I've only ever seen a couple before. However, this item is one of four I have just acquired from the ITALY series. Printed in August 1944. Measures approximately 90cm x 64cm. In excellent service used condition.
