Description: WW2 Japanese Arisaka Type 30 Bayonet Matsushita Variant w/ Scabbard "LAST DITCH" THE BAYONET IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION, MUCH MUCH BETTER THAN MOST OF THESE LAST DITCH VERSIONS YOU WILL SEE WITH A VERY NICE BLADE FINISH. IT LOOKS ALMOST UNUSED, I WOULD ASSUME IT WAS BROUGHT BACK TO THE US AS A SPOILS OF WAR. TIGHT HANDLES WITH A MOVING RIFLE ATTACHMENT PIN. THE RUBBER COATED CANVAS SCABBARD IS A LITTLE FRAGILE AND THE HAS GOT VERY HARD OVER THE YEARS. THE BAYONET WILL ONLY GO ABOUT HALF WAY DOWN THE SCABBARD AND HANGS UP SE WE HAVE NOT FORCED IN DOWN AND IT WILL SHIPPED WITH THE BAYONET NOT IN THE SCABBARD LATE WAR PRODUCITON, LAST DITCH VARIATION WITH: Crude, unfullered blade;• Straight crosspiece;• Rectangular pommel; and,• Riveted, slab-sided grips. INTERESTING SIDE NOTE:Matsushita was founded at Osaka in 1918 to make consumer household electric appliances. The company survived multiple B-29 raids on Osaka during 1945 and subsequently evolved into the present-day Panasonic Corporation.
