Description: Western Electric - Antique Model 20AL Candlestick Telephone Western Electric - Antique Model 20AL Candlestick Telephone Western Electric – Antique Model 20AL Candlestick Telephone This telephone is in very good original condition with a nice finish, stamped WE transmitter and intact cords. The finish of the phone is a mostly unblemished black paint, however, it appears that it was repainted at some point. Given the wear showing on the refinishing, it was likely repainted while the phone was still in use. The transmitter is a stamped Western Electric 323BW, and is paired with an original Bakelite transmitter cup. The transmitter cup does show some fine cracking, but it is still intact and fits snug into the transmitter. The receiver is in good condition with only some surface wear from age. The base of the phone is stamped with the Western Electric branding as well as the patent dates. The cloth cord to the receiver is still intact, and the cord that would go to the phones accompanying subset is still in place, however the subset end of that cord has been cut. The phone appears to be otherwise intact internally. This is an antique item, and has not been refurbished, so some age wear is to be expected. The item is untested and being sold as is.
