DESIGNER/COMPANY/COUNTRY: Franz Welz Glassworks: Founded in Bohemia in 1728, and in production until around the 1930s, the factory was also known as Antonienhütte. Most noted for a wide range of colorful artistic glassware produced during the 1920s & 1930s. Output at this time included Spatter & Tango glass, and was similar in style to Kralik and Ruckl pieces. DETAILS: ~ Antique 1920s Art Deco Era Bohemian Tango Vase ~ Tango Red Glass with Black Trim~ Blown Cased Art Glass, Amphora shape with Trumpet mouth ~ Marks: Made in Czechoslovakia~ Photos 2-5 were shot in quarter turns so all sides may be seen. ~ The last photo (for reference only) is a Welz Tango Grid. MEASUREMENTS (approximate): 6.75” tall, 3.5 wide, 3.25” top diameter, 2.75” base diameter CONDITION: Excellent Antique condition overall! No chips, cracks, or the like, but there are a few production flaws. Photos 9 (close-up of pic 3) & 10 (close-up of pic 4) show some bubble-pop flaws. They are close in proximity and the vase may be positioned so they're not visible.
