Description: Vintage 1960s-70's KELTY Extra Large at 33 inches tall External Aluminum Frame Backpack Military Olive Drab Green Hiking Mountain-Pack camping gear.Made in Glendale, California USAKELTY used WWII Left-overs like the Parachute canvas and cord, Original Military straps and aircraft rivets and parts. There are a few minor stains from being stored but this looks like if it was used, very little if at all.Has Plastic frame protectors on the ends and they look like they hit the ground very little.Has 1 Big area to pack stuff and 2 pockets on each side with the old Talon zippers with a total of 5 pockets or Compartments. The padded shoulder straps look Mint and show no use at all and are adjustable with clevis pins and holes in frame.The heavy duty waist belt has Stainless steel clamp adjuster that has a symbol of an anchor stamped on it.The Aluminum Frame measures almost 33 inches tall with a slight curve contour (Top to Bottom) and 15 3/4" wide.Also has the Hold Open frame. All zippers work great and the deep storage compartment and pockets are very clean like they have not been used much if at all.Please look at all the Pictures to see this Terrific example of the very early KELTY Backpack made in Glendale, California.There is a name on it from the previous owner and some very minor stains from hanging around and shows Very Little use!. A Little info about Dick & Nena (Kelty) Dick (Kelty) from Glendale California hand-formed and welded each of the frames, and his wife, Nena, sewed each of the pack bags using WW II leftover parachute pack fabric. Kelty packs first include aircraft-aluminum contoured frames, padded shoulder straps, waist belts, clevis-pin attachment of pack bags, nylon pack cloth, zippered pockets, hold-open frames, and nylon back bands. The first shoulder straps were produced using wool carpeting for padding. The original clevis pins were made from aircraft rivets. Shipping will be with UPS Ground because of Size.
