Description: During the 1952 and 1956 presidential campaigns, Schreiner made unsigned jewelry in support of the popular WWII general, Dwight Eisenhower, more commonly known as “Ike”. Schreiner made these specifically for his wife, Mamie Eisenhower, as well as for important campaign fund raisers including Elizabeth Arden. Although costume jewelry, they were considered high end as they were of better quality than the metal pins worn by most supporters. We are not sure this one was actually made by Schreiner; however, their campaign line has been well documented and other examples can be seen on page 22 of Nancy Schiffer’s book, Rhinestones! This brooch is 1.5” in diameter and has prong set baby blue glass beads. The metal is gold plated and is in excellent condition. Any dark shadows on the metal are just reflections from the camera.
