This exceptional Victorian sterling silver ladle features a large well defined draped maiden handle. She is shaped in the form of a caryatid and is hand chased. She commands all the attention of this very collectible ladle. The handle in turn is attached to an arched six sided shaft leading to a large helmet style bowl.The bowl has acid etched stylized Greek key elements, all making for an impressive presentation. Signed, with an illegible signature, this ladle has all the characteristics of George Sharp's work. Marked, Sterling. Measuring: 15" Long, 4" Wide, 5" Lady Handle. The condition is excellent.
