Description: This unusual pendant was handmade in Turkey during the mid 1900's. It is vintage tribal jewelry, not a new reproduction. Ornately designed in silver with brass accents, it has a scalloped edge and a thickness of 3/8 inch. The design is of stylized fish with a lapis-lazuli eye. In this region, animals like fish that are associated with water celebrate femininity, since both women and water sustain life. To show relative size, I put it on a new 18-inch display-cord to photograph as a necklace on a manikin. This display cord is encluded free with purchase, although it is not intended for long-term use.
