Description: The National Salesmens Training Association was a private for-profit publisher of training materials for salesmen. Sales, particularly traveling sales, exploded in the 20th century as a viable career path that didn't require a college -- or even a high school -- degree. The growing number of aspiring salesmen created a market for instructional materials, and "The National Salesmens Training Association" was one of the organizations the aimed to fill that void. They published in 1918 an eight-volume detailed guide to all aspects of the selling process. This volume, number 6, covers "Handling the Customer." Like a lot of mass market nonfiction books from this era it's a fascinating snapshot of the culture of the time. Here are the condition notes: Good used condition. Binding is independently produced, and covers are a stiff cardboard, somewhere between what we'd consider hardcover and softcover nowadays. Exterior is in good condition with only minor edge wear and lightly bumped corners. Front endpaper is partially torn at the spine; otherwise the binding and text block are tight and intact. Interior is clean and unmarked with off-white pages; no notable tanning.
