Description: Folkways Records 12-inch 33 rpm LP # FA-2408 is "Bluegrass" by Red Allen and Frank Wakefield. It comes with an 6-page foldout booklet and is dated 1964. It is produced by David Grisman, who also wrote the liner notes. In addition to Red Allen and Frank Wakefield, the musicians include Bill Keith, Tom Morgan, Pete Roberts and Fred Weisz. It appears to be an early pressing, with the Folkways address given (in the booklet and twice on each label) as 165 West 46th Street, New York City. The record looks to be in about VG condition, still nice and shiny but with some visible surface scuffs and scratches. It played through fine on my Audio-Technica turntable, with no skips or jumps, but with some light background noise throughout, including some scattered clicks and pops. Because of variations in tracking ability, filtering technology and needle weights, I can offer no guarantees as to how well it will play on your equipment. The two-pocket cover is in used and worn condition, with the top seam totally split and a couple of stickers on the front, one of them in Braille. Plus typical light surface rubbing and edge wear.
