Description: Really cute and unusual, vintage 1950s or possibly early 60s chenille bird ornament. The bird is stamped made in Japan below its left slipper. Measures 3” 3/4 tall by 1’ 1/2 wide with its slippers shoes held together. The ornament is very detailed with its painted spun cotton face with felt hat and paper slippers make it very unusual. It’s in good condition, however there is a crease on the bottom of the left slipper, next to the made in Japan stamp. The orange pipe cleaner material is in great shape. The felt hat has a little fabric sticking out of it. The bird stands on its own if you position the legs correctly. There’s a hole on the birds hat from being hung before. Unless I’m mistaken this appears to be an Easter decoration as I haven’t seen many of these out there! Makes an adorable kitschy and cute decorating statement.
