Description: For sale is an incredibly rare and exquisite labeled pair of Christopher Spitzmiller's iconic Small William Lamps in a rich blue crackle glaze, set upon antiqued 23K gold water gilt bases and surmounted by antique brass caps. The sockets are Spitzmiller's luxurious dimmer switches. The handmade nature of Spitzmiller's work is apparent immediately. Underneath the spectacular craquelure of the outer blue glaze are the visible pull or glazing marks that demonstrate the artist's hand in creating each and every one of these unique lamps. They are revered the world over by top interior designers and have become status symbols in the most important houses published every month in magazines like Architectural Digest and Veranda. The lamps are in excellent vintage condition. Images of the lamps and a close-up of the glaze and label are included along with an image of these lamps used with paper shades (not included) in a published project. They would work in any room and make a powerful statement. Questions or requests for further images are welcome.
