Description: Rare 1930s L. E. Smith RIN-TIN-TIN GERMAN SHEPHERD Satin Glass One-off Production or Stand-alone? This wonderful satin glass piece by L. E. Smith Glass was produced ca. 1930 and celebrated the popularity of that era's movie hero German Shepherd, Rin-Tin-Tin. Smith Glass used this excellent figure as the lid for their depression glass powder jars, BUT this particular item does NOT have the shaped base to match the jar nor does it have the embossed rippled lid of the powder jars. This item may have been a one-off or produced as a stand-alone. Possibly a lid for an item that I have never seen. Approximately 4-1/2" tall. The base is a perfectly round 3" in diameter Condition: The entire piece is in excellent condition save for a small flat chip at Rinty's right ear tip.
