Description: Thanks for looking! This is a relatively high quality copy of an arm badge of an employee of the military tribunal of the Red Army 1923-1924. There are very few genuine known copies to exist and they demand very high values when sold. The reason that this is a copy is due to the styling on this piece being off, it is a combination the 1923-24 Military Tribunal arm patch and the Revolutionary Military Tribunal arm patch 1922-23. An original should have 15 rays (this one has 13), a different non-diagonal central stitching on the red star. As well as a much taller “B” & “T” with a different sword handle design. I am unsure if this piece is made from cotton or a more modern material as I have not performed a burn test to see if the fibers melt or burn. I am able to say that this piece is at least 30 years old as it has been within my families collection since then. Regardless, this piece is made with genuine metal wire embroidery and would be a great way to represent a very rare early Soviet piece without breaking the bank. A Russian language site by the name of Cornet (.cc) recently had a genuine example up for offers. I am not sure what this genuine piece went for however it is interesting to look at the differences between this one and the genuine example.
