Description: 1930s authentic Ingrid labeled Malachite perfume bottle. Less than 5% of malachite items on the market are real Schlevogt originals, and less than 10% of those have the Ingrid label, so yes, this is quite rare. It is one of Curt Schlevogt's earliest pieces. I have included a section below for your edification, and a photo of my Malachite collection of Schlevogt Ingrid originals.Measures 5.5" H x 3.25" W. Small chip on top of neck (visible at 5 o'clock on frontal photo with stopper removed).Photos taken outdoors. The green malachite color is much lighter, as compared to my other listings which are taken indoors. This is how light plays on the originals. My next "Lilies" themed piece is also taken outdoors.Shipped USPS Priority. Message me with any questions. Please read for your edification:The Ingrid collection was created by Curt Schlevogt in 1929 (Ingrid was his daughter) during Czechoslovakia's 1st Republic (1918-38). Produced only in green malachite until c.1934 when crystal Ingrid pieces were introduced. Original Schlevogt pieces date 1929 to NLT 1945 when the firm ended, although the molds still existed. After 1945 the original molds were the property of the Josef Riedel Glassworks, the company that manufactured for Schlevogt and Hoffman, and after 1948, were the property of the Nationalized Czech Glass Industry. There is no evidence that Schlevogt molds were ever used by JR Glassworks. After privatization in 1991 (following the dissolution of the Eastern Bloc), original molds were divided to several fabricators, the most going to Desna. The more the molds are used, the more detail fades in the reproductions. Also, light reflects differently on the originals versus the later, more opaque models, and original productions are lighter by 30% compared to newer productions. If it’s “attributed to," “in the style of,” "signed", has a "series" or "serial" number given, gives an exact year of production, has any wording engraved on the malachite itself, or if it’s a different color than green or clear, then, for starters…just be diligent. Also, nearly all pieces were exclusively vanity related for women (mostly perfume, powder box, trinket box, small vanity vases, mirrors, clothes brushes, and the like) and had a functional, practical purpose, never just display. Repros are very convincing, as they are made to look like the real deal and Desna is actually producing exact copies since they own most of the original molds since 1991. The real ones are definitely out there, but maybe, just maybe, less than 5%. "Ingrid" labels are extremely rare on original pieces, with only 10% still having the unmistakable silver label. Out of the 18 pieces I have collected, 4 have the "Ingrid" label. Good luck.Every single one was acquired by me in the Czech Republic before reproductions flooded the market.
