Description: I was fortunate enough to work at EMD when they were retiring folks early and tearing down the main factory. This brochure came from a retiree who saved EVERYTHING. He had tons of stuff, much of which I'm just starting to go through after 25 years. Most everything he had was brand new stored in file folders. In some cases he had multiples, in others, just one copy. This 1960's brochure was intended to convince customers that a series of standby EMD generators would benefit their customers in the event of a breakdown. The product was actually very successful but eventually demand dropped sometime in the 1970's. By the time I started at EMD in 1981, I don't think EMD had any sales for these. This brochure is new and comes in the original black mailing envelope. It mainly features successful MU site installations throughout the eastern part of the USA but does mention some other locations. Photos include Atlantic City Electric Company, Green Mountain Power Company, New England Electric, Pennsylvania Electric Company, Newport Electric Corporation, Philadelphia Electric Company, Bangor Hydro Electric Company, Maine Public Service Company, Public Service Company of Oklahoma, Iowa Electric Light & Power Company, and Cheyenne Light, Fuel, and Power Company, Around 11 pages long, most double sided.
