It is a hexagon shaped tub shape with two squared off handles. The exterior of the bowl is elaborately and skillfully decorated (100% hand-painted) with large pink (2) and yellow (2) flowers and accompanying greenery that completely encircles the bowl. The top rim and the two handles are also trimmed in hand painted gold decoration and gold beading. An unusual, delicate and beautiful little piece! Please be sure to read the “Age and Condition” paragraphs below. I am gradually selling my salt cellar and individual nut dish collection that at one time was over 1,800 pieces. This particular piece has been in my collection since 1986. The piece is unmarked, but obviously Nippon. Nippon being the Japanese word for Japan. This piece is similar in size and shape to Photo # 1452 in the book 5,000 Open Salts: A Collector’s Guide by William Heacock and Patricia Johnson. I do my best to describe all items as accurately as possible and to the best of my ability. Some of my photos may be somewhat lighter or darker than actual to better show detail or color. It is in excellent to near mint original condition. Please look closely at the photos as they are an important part of my description of this item. There are no chips, flea bites, cracks, hairlines, scratches or repairs. I see only some extremely light wear to the gold trim. Please keep in mind the photos may be blown up at least 8-10 times normal, so anything you see will look 8-10 times larger in the photos than it really is. Please note: if you see a dark spot in the photos it is from my camera and is not a mark on the piece. It will be either just to the right of center towards the bottom or slightly above center on the right side of the photo. APPROXIMATE DIMENSIONS: The bowl is about 1.875” (4.8 cm) across and it sits about 1.25” (3.2 cm) off the table at the tops of the handles. APPROXIMATE WEIGHT: About .875 ounce (25 grams).
