Description: In the early 1900s, majestic redwood trees along the Redwood Highway in Northern California had signs attached to the trees near Lane’s Redwood Flat cabins. The one in this photograph is called the “Green Cross Tree” and was dedicated to the American Green Cross. A 1920’s auto can be partially seen behind the tree. Lane’s Redwood Flat was a popular vacation spot near Leggett, in Mendocino County. Leggett has some of the largest trees in the world. The stamp box shows that DOPS photo paper was used for the card, sometime after 1925. Patterson 930, written on the card, could be either the publisher or photographer. Due to the age of the postcard collection this card is from, it was probably published close to 1925. This original real photo postcard card ships USPS standard first class, sleeved and in a stiff cardboard mailer.
