Borlaug, signed photo PROVENANCE This Nobel Prize winners autograph lot is part of the Hirsh Cohen lifetime collection of autographs. Mr. Cohen (1921–2001) begin collecting in 1936 when he obtained the autograph of Eddie Cantor. From there, he built a collection of more than 7000 autographs. The majority were destroyed/damage during hurricane Agnes in 1972 in his home in Harrisburg, PA, but he continued afterwards to build his collection to include many more important people from recent history. I purchased a large lot from his estate in 2004, and the items in this auction are some of the ones I'm parting with. I sincerely hope the new recipient of these autographs is pleased to have them. Condition: overall very good. Mr. Cohen has included handwritten notes and a stamped date on the backs of most. See my photo for details.
