As Lennon's fourth solo album, this one arrived shortly before McCartney's Band on the Run so offers a glimpse into the solo Beatles era. The title track emerged as the sole single, charting in the Top 20 in both the US and UK. Lennon, 33 at the time, grappled with a deportation battle and political scrutiny while writing this one which was recorded with a stellar ensemble, including drummer Jim Keltner and guitarist David Spinozza.
