Jonah Reissman alongside Pepi Littmann, Helene Gespass, and Shulim Podzamcze. Resissman, one of the last of the Broder singers, spent most of his career in Vienna. Born in 1862 in Kherson, Ukraine, he joined the Yiddish theater at 14 and later starred in Goldfaden’s Meshiekhs tsaytn in 1889. Resissman became a leading figure in Yiddish theater, despite dying in poverty in 1932. This record offers a rare glimpse into his legacy, making it a potential gem for collectors.A record sleeve with what appears to be an inscription from Al Jolson, although authentication by an expert is required.
