Indian Dupatta Embellished Silk Scarf Chunari Odni Sea Foam Green VINTAGE

Description: This lovely scarf with Indian, Pakistani, or Indian Sub-Continent origins is semi-transparent and richly adorned with metal, silk, and glass embellishments. It is60" x 22" - perfect as a shawl or head, neck, and/or shoulder scarf. Mom was a world traveler and loved collecting beautiful items from around the globe, items which reflected the culture of the countries she visited. This scarf, purchased in about 1983, was among those treasures. It does not appear to have ever been worn and is in new condition. It has no labels as to maker, fabric content, or care instructions, but it appears to be silk organza and needs to be hand washed in cool water. It is a solid, dreamy sea foam green, with subtle golden chevrons and stripes woven into the bottom 6 inches of each end and a rich swollen gold border along the full perimeter. (In some of my pictures, it appears slightly more blue than it actually is. It is a definite seafoam green. ) Near each end is a 2" x 22" silk organza band onto which fabulous, eye-catching, silver-toned metal embellishments with brightly covered silk thread and small glass beads have been hand sewn. Slightly larger matching silver floral embellishments are also hand sewn at regular intervals along the full 60 inch-length of the scarf. This scarf will add drama and beauty to a simple, classic sheath dress, or to complement a traditional Lehenga wedding dress or Saree.
