Description: HOLLYWOOD STUDIO MAGAZINE - roy rogers and Dale Evans cover issue, May 1981, 10.85 x 8.45-inch magazine bound by 2 staples, 50 pp. printed on bright white glossy stock which shows no toning at all; movie ads with B&W photos on inside covers, published by Stan Neville and Associates (Woodland Hills, CA), excellent condition (clean and tightly bound, bright covers and pages that remain bright white, straight corners no bends, creases of chips; text at top front corner adjacent to spine reads:THE WEST COAT'S FILM AND COLLECTORS MAGAZINE). Although the magazine features Rogers and Evans on the cover, and their article is long and well-illustrated, John Wayne gets equal space as a more truly representative cowboy movie icon, not an ultra-wholesome singing cowboy. There's also a major article on the great Joel McCrea. One of the secondary articles focuses on Cowboy Villains and Sidekicks. It offers a broad history of the western genre, with some of the Wayne images from his early days doing programmers. There's only one matching copy on eBay. Described as very good and accompanied by a cover photo only, it has a "crimp" at the lower corner of the front cover and isa listed at $11.49 with free shipping. My excellent copy is a true collectible.
