Description: Up for sale are six Gemstone Publishing EC 1950s Reprint square bound comics from the 1990s. The Haunt of Fear V. 5 (Reprints issues #21 - #25 from 1953 and 1954) (Gemstone Publishing, 1998) – Grab this square bound issue featuring tales by The Old Witch, The Vault-Keeper and The Crypt-Keeper. This issue grades about 8.0 VF. The cover, which has retained nice reflectivity, and all pages (which are cream-colored) are attached. The front cover has color loss at the top edge, the right hand corner has a bend that does not break color, the bottom right-hand corner has an approx. 1/8” crease, there is a stress line on the binding at the “R” in “Fear”; the back cover has some color loss at the top edge, and a tear and chip at the top right-hand corner, the bottom right-hand corner has minor corner wear, there is some color loss at the bottom edge and a chip at the bottom right-hand corner. $20.00. Shock SuspenStories V. 4 (Reprints issues #15-#18 from 1954) (Gemstone Publishing, 1996) – Those ‘50s horror covers certainly had a lot of shock value. This issue grades about 8.0 VF. The cover, which has retained nice reflectivity, and all pages (which are cream-colored) are attached. The front cover top right corner has a bend that slightly breaks color at the very edge, there is color loss in that area and at the right-side, there is an approx. 1/8” tear and chip near the “S” in “SuspenStories” at the right-side edge, the bottom right-hand side was wear; the back cover has wear at all the corners and an approx. 3/16” crease at the bottom left-hand corner, six internal pages have slightly (approx. 1/8") dog-eared edges, there are some brown smudges at the bottom binding edge. $20.00. Weird Science V. 2 (Reprints issues #6-#10 from 1950 and 1951) (Gemstone Publishing, 1994) – USAF to the rescue…look at those panicked alien faces. This issue grades about 8.0 VF. The cover, which has retained nice reflectivity, and all pages (which are cream-colored) are attached. The front cover top edge has some color loss, the top right-hand corner has an approx. 1/8” crease that breaks color, the bottom edge has some color loss and the right-hand corner has an approx. 1/8” stress line, there is some color loss at the right-hand edge; the back cover has a stress line at the right-hand side at the bottom of the first cover. $20.00. Weird Science V. 3 (Reprints issues #11-#14 from 1951 and 1952) (Gemstone Publishing, 1995) – Feldstein creates havoc and then rockets away. This issue grades about 7.5 VF-. The cover, which has retained nice reflectivity, and all pages (which are cream-colored) are attached. The front cover has color loss at the top edge, the top left-hand has a stress line that runs from the top down to the top of the “A” in “Fantasy”, there is also some creasing at that area, the top right-hand corner has wear and a chip, the bottom edge has color loss and the bottom right-hand corner has wear and is rounded; the back cover has an impact dent and crease at the top right-hand corner, the bottom left-hand corner has an approx. ¼” crease. $15.00. Weird Science V. 4 (Reprints issues #15-#18 from 1952) (Gemstone Publishing, 1996) – Wally Wood artwork featuring dinosaurs and a crashed space ship…what more needs to be said? This issue grades about 8.0 VF. The cover, which has retained nice reflectivity, and all pages (which are cream-colored) are attached. The front cover has a stain at the top left-hand corner, the top edge has some color loss, the right-hand corner has an abraded corner, the bottom edge has color loss in various places; the back cover has a blemish above the last cover at the right-hand side; there are some brown smudges at the bottom binding edge. $20.00. Weird Science V. 5 (Reprints issues #19-#22 from 1953) (Gemstone Publishing, 1997) – Ray Bradbury stops in for a visit and you get a Wally Wood space alien cover to boot! This issue grades about 9.0 VF/NM. The cover, which has retained nice reflectivity, and all pages (which are cream-colored) are attached. The front cover top left- and right-hand corners have some wear, the bottom left-hand edge has color loss, and some color loss in other areas at the bottom edge, the bottom right-hand edge appears to have some color loss too; the back cover top left-hand edge has an approx. 1/8” crease, the top right-hand edge has some blunting as does the spine, the bottom right-hand edge has an approx. 1/8” tear. $27.50.
