This Set is Digitally-Mastered, and is Pristine ! in its sound quality ... a simply Amazing ! release from one of the many Smokin'-Hot ! Shows on this Grateful Dead Spring '90 Tour. And ... if you were fortunate enough to catch any of these Magical ! 16 East Coast Tour dates on this '90 Spring Tour run - then you already well know just exactly what I am talking about here. The eager anticipation of the Dead Fans was at a new high, and the ' Mighty ' Energy ! of the Band was just completely infectious - as they were downright " ON " !!! And ... as far as this 3/21 Hamilton-Ontario Show at the " Copps " Coliseum goes - it truly was the 1st installment of 1990 & 1992 Live-Dead in Canada ! - where the Good Ol' '90's ! Grateful Dead built another little tradition of Rocking !! another country other than the USA ! As I mean let's face it ... if you were a loyal Deadhead who lived somewhere other than the Good Ol' U.S. of A.! - then, you had to come to the USA to see the Band Play ! Because outside of the Europe '90 Tour, and a few Shows up in Canada in say 1984 & 1987 ... then you would have to go all the way back to Europe '81 ! for a Dead Tour outside of U.S.A. soil. So yeah ... these '90 & '92 Ontario Shows were way-welcomed by the Deadhead Touring-Faithful ! and, obviously too ... Grate ! relations between the U.S. & Canada always meant a pretty laid-back boarder crossing - whereas these days ... you even need a Passport ! But, not back then. So, point being ... it was a chill ! spot on the Tour. And, Wow ... did the Boys make it Count ! All Four ( 4 ) !!!! of these Canada Shows mentioned, frankly - but, this really was the night that began to start it all ! 1/2 Step - Minglewood - Far From Me ... from Brent ! - Queen Jane - Victim > Standing On The Moon ! - and Promised Land to close Set I ! And, if you have yet to hear this " Standing On The Moon " ?? ... well, trust me ... & get to it ! Though not quite as ' explosive ' vocally as the Mighty-Autzen '93 version, it is subtle, sweet, and just played so-nicely ... as Jerry was indeed Feelin' it ! - often like he would, when it came to this tune - and especially in the Late 89 & Early '90's Era. And then, for the Set II ' Opener ' >>> Pocky Way !!! A Complete ! Brent & The Boys ! drill-down that most certainly got The " Copps " a-Rockin' !!! And then right after, from a standpoint of ' Killer ' transition ... Crazy Fingers > Cumberland !! Real-Real ... Hot ! --- Jerry !!! - and, Phil too ! here on this one ... Wow !?! Estimated > He's Gone into Drums / Space ... and then - the Miracle ! just like a Bobby-ridden Bat outta Hell ! Pretty much ... " The Heat " !! Yeah ! ... " Ace " !! Gettin' at it ... Smokin' ! Wharf Rat into Stones ! > Lovelight !!! So, you know ... Bobby was Hot ! - and Jerry & Co. knew-it ! ... lobbing yet another back his way to crush ! And, being Bobby & all ... he Crushes-it ! Throwin' Stones & Lovelight, to be frank. Top-Notch !! A pretty Knockin' for the Encore, and that Fans was all she wrote ... well, you know - until Night # 2 ! at the " Copps ". Heck, they should have called the Cap Centre " The ' Cops ' ! " after seeing the parking lot during the 3/14 > 3/16 run, but ... I guess Canada got the honor. But, close to little to no ! law problems up there - or, at least so the story goes. Only 3-More ! Dead Shows ever in all of Canada after this one - so, it sure is nice that the Band made them count like this ... Awesome !!! Wow ... I mean I don't even know what else to say ' Other ' than ... I'm so incredibly lucky that I caught this G.D. Tour ! - darn-close now to 30-Years Ago ! here today. I mean what can you say ... Time-Flies ! - when You're Havin' Fun !! The Band meant real-serious business all throughout this 3/21/90 Ontario Show, were Red-Hot ! and -- here for sure is the ' Proof ' in this exceptional pro-released format CD Set ! Which, only took like 25-Years ! ( or 24-ish ?! ) to deliver ... but, my goodness - was it ever worth the entire wait !
