Hawksley was in operation from 1845 until 1889. The upper half of the flask is protected by chestnut colored leather. There are no cracks or chips in the glass. The Flask measures 6 inches tall by 3 1/4 inches wide and it weighs 1 pound 0.2 ounces. Some soldiers carried such flasks during the American Civil War.
