Description: Condition Continued: There is a thin little loss at the outer edge of one page (77-78) in Volume One, far from the print. There are no markings in either book. No one has written their name or anything else in either book. There is one attachment in each book, a bookplate on the front inside cover. It's a nice-looking bookplate. Says 'The hands shall fashion and the brain shall pore.' Also printed on the bookplate the name Kurt J. Rahlson. A Kurt J. Rahlson wrote a book in 1913 titled 'Hansel & Gretel: A Guide to Engelbert Humperdinck's Opera.' Bernhard Tauchnitz, Leipzig, Germany, 1858. Hardcover. Written by Anthony Trollope. From the 'Collection of British Authors, Tauchnitz Edition.' 'Copyright Edition. Volume 449 and 450.' The date on the title page is 1858. I'm fairly certain my edition would not have been published that early. Since no other date is given so I have included the date that is shown on the title page. Another seller stated that this edition was published circa 1909. 'Doctor Thorne is a novel by the English author Anthony Trollope, published in 1858. It is the third book in his Chronicles of Barsetshire series, between Barchester Towers and Framley Parsonage. The idea of the plot was suggested to Trollope by his brother Thomas. Michael Sadleir places it as one of the five best of Trollope's novels and the best of the Barsetshire novels. An ITV adaptation, Doctor Thorne, starring Stefanie Martini as Mary Thorne and Harry Richardson as Frank Gresham aired on 6 March 2016. The script was written by Julian Fellowes, the creator and scriptwriter for Gosford Park and Downton Abbey.'
