These curtains feature: * Professionally made to a superb standard from one of Britain's most reputable retailers** Pattern match is fluid*** Elegant French pinch pleats for a formal hang**** Blackout lined for light blocking***** Weighted hem line******HUGE so could easily split down ✿ ITEM: ONE pair (2 panels) of curtains in and archived 100% silk printed fabric by DESIGNERS GUILD, bespoke made to measure in the UK by John Lewis, label attached. ✿ CONDITION: Offered in good pre-owned condition with the following observations:1. Palest sun streaking to the lining2. Some scattered markings to the lining, condensed mainly to the bottom hem. I did spy a few small marks to the silk, again mainly at the bottom and easily overlooked.3. Dust to the underside of the hem where they have scrapped the floor and a few dust marks to the reverse header where again, they have scrapped its last pole/track.****The silk on the main body of the curtains is still in very excellent shape, it is NOT brittle, Not worn out and holds NO ripping, fraying or tears etc Whilst marks can be quantified, smells cannot. This has been sourced from a clean and smoke free home and is stored in the very same condition chez moi, BUT you are kindly reminded that this is a PREOWNED set of FABRIC curtains - so for hygiene sake, it is recommended that you clean BEFORE using. That said, I did not pick up anything offensive so would say they could be hung as they are.✿ FABRIC TEXTURE/COLOUR and DESIGN: 100% silk fabric - a good weight and not at all flimsy. Featuring printed rose bouquets in a most elegant colour palette of duck egg blue/eau de nil greens, pale lemon yellow on a true ivory cream backing which has a lovely pale silver hue due to the natural pearlescent quality of silk fabric, so the colours take on deeper or flare tones depending on the light source.There is random knotting and graining along the silk which is a natural characteristic of silk spun fabric and should not be mistaken for a fault. ✿ LINING TYPE: There are 2 layers to these curtains, the silk face fabric and thermal blackout lined which provides light blocking - see PHOTO 11.... The Dordogne sun was out in full blast - so you can see how much light blocking the curtains have :) ✿ HEADER TYPE: Double pinch pleat header which have the fabric gathered and sewn at the time of making so the widths at the top will not adjust, but this gives a lovely formal and elegant finish to the curtains and they look lovely and neat when drawn open. These can be used for both track and pole (with rings) systems Measurements EACH CURTAIN LAID FLAT +/- 2 cmWidth (SIDE TO SIDE) 390 cm or 153 inches; Fixed across the pleated header to 196 cm or 77 inchesLength (TOP TO BOTTOM) 252 cm or 99 inches - The hem is sealed but I can just about make out a 3 inch in the hem (upturn) so these could be lengthened, although please note that should you do this, there may be a crease shadow from the previous hemline. ✿✿✿ Kindly note that ships from SW France so please check any import charges/taxes that you may be subjected to in your country.
