Description: ATTENTION Mid Year Corvette FANS, this is a VERY LOW NUMBER Artist Proof (12 of 50) from a very low total. The launch of the 1963 Corvette Stingray caused a sensation. The bold new styling by Larry Shinoda under Harley Earl and engineered by Zora Duntov created the quintisential Corvette. Today the Mid Years (1963-1967 enjoy a status above all other Corvettes and demand the highest prices. By 1968 the "mid years" were last years design. Many were traded in for a new Corvette creating this scene from 1968 at Mid America Mid Motors were many are on display for sale. If you are a serious collector and want to inspect and see my collection let me know, I would be happy to entertain an offer for the entire lot of Davids work including his book and some other related goodies I have from him This particular auction is for a single professionally framed print of Mid America Mid Years as initially painted by David Snyder who as a native of Cincinnati and who obtained his art degree from the prestigious Central Academy of Commercial Art and attended the University of Cincinnati. This particular print has 3/8 exposed second mat that brings out various cars contained in the print. Please see the picture of this which is also an example of how the signature and print number are fully exposed. While working at various ad agencies David continued to paint but could not devote enough time to it and is now devoted exclusively to his artwork. Please visit his Davids website at davidsnydercarart dot com I am an avid collector of his artwork with 40 pieces, all of which are framed similarly in order for the collection to be kept together. The glass is clear preservation to keep out unwanted UV rays. The frames are flat black metal with the print mounted on two mats the first of which is polo white with the second accenting the color of the print content. Each of the prints includes a brief write-up as included in the pictures so when anyone is viewing the collection they get a feel for the history of the painting most of which is provided by David himself. If interested in the other prints most of which are low number Artist Proofs (A/P's personally inspected by David) generally of GM vehicles (Chevrolet, Pontiac, Buick, Corvette, etc.) please let me know. My collection includes many of which are sold out according to Davids website. I am downsizing my collection so all are for sale and available for inspection. UPDATE AS OF NOVEMBER 1 2018 I sold a print to a collector that was not interested in the frame as he wanted to match his existing collection. The shipping is better at about $15 to the lower 48 states, so if you like one or more, drop me a note and I will take it out of the frame and ship it in a tube. Prices vary based on specific print.
