curved 2" skew rabbet wood molding plane w/ fences & Ohio Tool iron to restore

Description: You are bidding on one curved 2" skew rabbet molding or moulding plane as pictured.The only marks that I can find on the body are owner initials "WRW" twice on the top of the body. The area where you would expect to find a maker has been scratched out. The iron was cut down from a larger plane iron, and you can make out ".....O TOOL C.." and "..AST STEEL ...RRANTE..", with a border around the mark. It appears that the mark is OHIO TOOL CO CAST STEEL WARRANTED, and the border strongly resembles the border found on some Ohio Tool wood bodied plane irons. The tail of the iron is about 13/16" in width. The most noticeable features are the curved body and the two fences or depth stops, one on each side. The body is about 9-15/16" in length. It really needs a cleaning, including a bit of rust on the iron.Condition is fair. The two fences are starting to separate from the body as can be seen, and appear to only be held with a few nails. The outer surfaces of the fences show a lot of wear. The profile area also shows wear. There is an odd hole drilled in the rear of the right side that is maybe 1/2" deep. There is the beginning of a crack in the wedge slot, from the wedge being installed too forcefully and pushing up the wood at the front of the slot. And there are a variety of scratches and dings and chips in the wood. The iron and the wedge both appear to be original to the plane.A fascinating plane, an uncommon profile, and well worth some restoration effort! And you won't have to worry about your buddy saying he's got an identical plane! The Post Office now has several prices increases during each year, raising a few things but not everything at each increase. And they now raise their rates during the Holidays, which means early October to late January. Their big increases are in January, timed to start at the end of the Holiday rates, and this year is no exception. And it's not just the postage rates, the insurance charges and the delivery signature charges have also gone up. There is now a surcharge for Priority Mail packages over 20" long, and another for Priority Mail packages over 30" long, because those longer packages won't fit in their automatic machines. And the Post Office has discontinued the Regional Flat Rate boxes, which were often less expensive for certain sizes and weights. I try to pick the best shipping option for each listing, based both on what is the least expensive and on what I think is needed to protect the item. If the value is $250 or over, eBay requires your signature at delivery for the buyer and seller protections to be in effect.SALES TAX: Interstate sales tax is now the reality on all the major selling websites including eBay. If I ship to a state where eBay is required to collect sales tax, eBay will charge you the sales tax for your location. The sales tax is completely out of my hands -- I don't have anything to do with deciding whether to charge tax, I don't have anything to do with deciding the tax rate, and I never see any of the funds that are collected, they go directly to eBay.SELLING OUTSIDE OF EBAY: Why would I risk my lengthy good standing with eBay to save you a couple of dollars?
