Description: SET 2 Antique HAND PAINTED MORIAGE Satsuma Ware JAPAN Porcelain Pottery VasesSize: 12" high, 3.5" opening at top, base 3.75", 19" around base.Matched set of 2, absolutely no damage to either. No nicks chips cracks repair. Genuine antique not repros. These are GALLERY QUALITY vases with a hand painted figural scene of 2 warriors on the front, done in heavy dimensional moriage w gold gilt details. Back side of each vase is a dark forest green w moriage detailed flowers. Heavy gourd shaped with lavish artwork, very minute brushwork. Cobalt blue swirling flowers and leaves in raised relief, lotus pattern along bottom. Piecrust raised edge with crested handles. Dark green mark on underside of one, illegible. Light crazing throughout glaze which is absolutely normal for age and it is not darkened or distracting. See pics and use zoom. Highly collectible, very unusual.
