Description: Antique medal of Saint Aloysius Gonzaga and the Immaculate Conception. St. Aloysius Gonzaga was an Italian Jesuit of the 16th century whose feast day is celebrated on June 21, according to the Catholic saints calendar. Considered the patron saint of youth, he is prayed to for strength and serenity in times of grief or difficulty. The Immaculate Conception, on the other hand, represents the dogma of the Catholic Church according to which the Virgin Mary was free of original sin from the moment of her conception until her death. Her feast is celebrated on December 8. She is prayed for the purity of souls and bodies and for the conversion of non-believers or sinners. This medal measures 4.5 * 3.5 cm (1.77 * 1.37 inches). It was made in Spain in the 19th century and is in very good condition although it needs cleaning.
