Description: Antique bronze sculpture of a fishing woman. France, circa 1900. This is a PRETTY and LARGE antique bronze statue, titled “ Retour De Pèche “ , which means ( Back from fishing ). Depicting a woman, holding in her right hand a fishing nets, and in her left hand a basket with some fish. Wearing a hat, working clothes, naked foots. Very nice casting details. Inscribed on the base Kossowski ( see photo ). Henryk Kossowski ( 1855-1921 ). With “ société des bronzes de Paris“ and numbered 1829 , and FRANCE ( see photo ), at the back of the base. Plaque front title “ Retour de Pêche “ ( see photo ). Very impressive piece. 2 original brown tones patina ( light brown and dark brown ). Weight : 87 lbs ( 40 kgs ) approximately. The heavy weight reflects the thickness of the bronze, authenticity of the piece. Dimensions : H : 45 inches ( 114 cm ) Diameter at the base : 12 inches ( 30 cm ) W : 14 inches ( 36 cm ) maximum width. Condition report : Original patina well preserved, shows minor scratches, discoloration consistent with age and use. Excellent details, very impressive piece. Clean and ready to be placed.
