Description: Seller: Alley-Antiques DESCRIPTION: Antique primitive fireplace tool. American folk art. Nice almost 200 years old American Federal stencil painted wood turtle top bellows with brass tip. Great display piece. Has that great Primitive Folk Art look. Selling AS-IS. Almost all of the leather is gone and would need to be replaced to be used. Unmarked. The curved turtle top, all one piece wood top and one piece wood bottom, curved top handle date this to the early 1800s. So this dates to the 1820-1830 time period. Dates back to the 1820s to Circa 1825. Selling As-Is. Beautiful, but worn, original stencil. Front handle with a small chip of wood off the top (pictured). Original brass tip. Leather is almost gone. Still has braided leather above the tip. Has the original period brass tacks. The piece is in 2 pieces (front and back) and is NOT usable. Early rounded turtle top. Early curved upper handle. The top wood with handle and bottom wood with handle are each 1 single piece of carved wood. Condition is poor but has that primitive folk art display look. The original stencil paint is quite worn. Leather almost gone. Bellows in 2 pieces. These bellows are around 200 years old, and are of the American Federal period. That in itself make this quite collectible. Original worn patina. Measures about 18" long and about 7 1/2" wide at extremes.Look at pics as they are considered part of the description. Shipping total includes insurance and confirmation. BID WITH CONFIDENCE .
