Description: Watchful Eagle Antiques (Please read entire listing carefully, especially Description and Condition portions) Title: 4 ANTIQUE C1810 English Double Ogee Blown Glass Cordial Glasses 2.5" Description:Up for sale is this GORGEOUS cordial glasses that I believe to have been produced in England in the early 1900s. During my research, I found this identical pattern and form on a very reputable English Antique site (X Exhibit Antiques & Collectibles). Per that sites description these are " . . . early 19th century port glass with a double ogee bowl. The bowl has a field of fine diamonds with slice cutting below. Angular knop stem above a conical foot with a snapped pontil." Although the pontil has been ground down, there are still remnants of where the pontil was broken off. There are imperfections that are consistent with the production techniques during that period (a few small remnants of dirt in the glass and a few tiny air bubbles in the base of one glass). Although there is not an even distribution of micro scratch wear on the base, there is a significant amount of the expected micro scratches on the "high points" of the base.
