As a fielder, Schmidt won the National League Gold Glove Award for third basemen ten times. Schmidt was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1995 on the 1st ballot and is often considered the greatest third baseman in baseball history.Ron “The Penguin” Cey was a 6× All-Star (1974–1979), World Series champion (1981) and World Series MVP (1981). Cey played for the Los Angeles Dodgers (1971–1982), Chicago Cubs (1983–1986) and Oakland Athletics (1987). In his 16-season career, Cey was a .261 hitter with 316 home runs and 1,139 RBIs. Cey finished in the top 25 in National League MVP voting four times with the Los Angeles Dodgers (1974-1977) and once with the Chicago Cubs (1984).
