Description: 1959 Topps #407 Moe Drabowsky Chicago Cubs High-end NM-MT B59#407A1 This is a high-end 1959 Moe Drabowsky card with superior corners, straight edges and perfectly centered. Perfectly centered Superior corners Clean back Vintage ‘59 Drabowsky pitched 17 years in the majors after signing with the Cubs in July of ‘56 as a bonus baby. Unlike most bonus baby signings, the Cubs put Drabowsky to work immediately and throughout the second half of his signing year. Bonus Baby signings required that the signee stay on the Roster the entire year in which he signed. Usually they’d play catch all year and wear the bench out. Drabowsky, and some others, stuck around, however, and it wasn’t until Drabowsky’s 5th season that he put on a minor league uniform and learn how the other half live. But he worked his way back to the majors but was used as a reliever for the first time in his short career. He played for eight teams in his short career, and while he flirted with starting while relieving in the middle years, from ‘66 to 72, he was strictly a reliever.
