Sullivan's house. Sullivan portrayed Poirot in the plays 'Black Coffee' and 'Peril at End House'. In addition he also played the lead in the 1953 production of 'Witness for the Prosecution', for which he won a Tony. The novel follows a gathering of guests at a country house who are disturbed by a sudden death. Luckily, Poirot is in attendance. The main players include a downtrodden wife, her successful husband, and the reappearance of an old flame. CONDITION In the publisher's original cloth binding, and unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, exceptionally bright but with light discolouration to back strip head and tail. Shelf wear to back strip tail. Light spotting to text block fore edge. Dust wrapper back strip and rear wrap a touch age toned. Losses of paper at back strip head and tail. Extensive age toned tape repairs running the length of the back strip and fold of front flyleaf. Significant closed tear to tail of fold over rear joint, with rear wrap still firmly held. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
