Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE This is one of a number of vintage tube radios that I have sold starting last Fall and Winter to happy enthusiasts. I will be selling more from this estate through the end of this year. They all were from the estate of a ham enthusiast who rebuilt communication receivers over the years along with many other tube type radios. This is a handsome 1935 wood shouldered tombstone cabinet classic art deco Philco 610B, AM and two Short wave band radio with five tubes. This is an imposing wood cabinet large table model radio (17” x 13” x 9”) It has hookups in the rear for wire antenna and ground which was used in the 1930s. The two short wave bands as well as AM requires a long wire antenna which should be hooked to the rear for best performance. It appears that some electronic restoration was done to the set. I can see that the electrolytic filter capacitors were replaced but the rest of the set looks original to me. It plays as shown in videos with a slight hum. I suspect the rest of the capacitors should be replaced but it should be an easy restoration since the set is working on AM and SW. Grill cloth is original. The controls all turn as they should and the knobs are original. This set has a good celluloid dial with almost no fading. In my opinion the cabinet is in nice condition for a 89 year old radio. The cabinet retains its original finish with some scuffs and scrapes which would be expected after 9 decades. The set displays well . Please look closely at all photos and videos as they are an integral part of description. Although this set is clearly working as shown in the video there are fragile coils, switches and other components so the set may have to be gone through once it arrives. As such it must be sold “as is.” I have sold a lot of radios this way and they all have arrived in good shape and working. Set will be carefully packed and shipped double boxed by Fedex Ground.
