The coin depicts the tughra of Abdul Aziz (the Ottoman Sultan, in Turkey, at the time) on the obverse and denomination below it. The reverse has the Legend "Duribah Fee Misr 1277" (struck in Fustat on the outskirts of modern day Cairo the capital of Egypt in 1277AH) and shows that it was struck in the 4th year of Abdul Aziz's reign, translating to 1863. The year 1277 AH ( 1861 AD) is the year when Abdul Aziz became sultan This is KM 241, weighs ~6 grams and measures ~30 mm in diameter. Size and weight: This is a 10 para or a fourth of a Qirsh measures about 30 mm and weighs about 6 grams of bronze. References: It is KM #241. Condition: I would grade this coin as a great extremely fine or much better with all the details being very well preserved and has nice eye appeal. The coin is much better than the scan shows. The coin has signs of oxidation within the Tughra on the obverse and within the writing on the reverse. The coin has chocolate brown toning and is much better than the scan suggest. It does have some scratches, a few minor bag marks, and wear commensurate with its age and circulated status. The coin has nice eye appeal. Please see photo for additional condition information.
