Description: Welcome to Earlycoppercoins! I am the owner, Shawn A. Yancey, and I am a member of ANA and Early American Coppers, EAC #4647. I am pleased to offer the following item: From the New Cumberland Collection of 1793-1814 US large cents, complete by Sheldon Variety S-1 through S-295 including several NC varieties! NCC-002: 1793 S-2 Chain Cent, AMERICA Reverse, R4+, PCGS VG Details, EAC FineTwelve net GoodFive. PCGS VG Details Devices Engraved, and the engraving is obvious at the 1 in the date which was crudely strengthened. The rest of the date is strong. There is additional damage in the form of several light digs on the portrait, plus some slightly deeper nicks on the reverse. On the plus side, the details approach FINE, the color is an attractive milk chocolate brown, and the date is clear. Positive eye appeal despite the defects and a "darn" coin as opposed to a "yuck" coin. My EAC grade matches the grade assigned by Tom Reynolds whose trademark yellow envelope remains with the coin. PCGS VG Detail Devices Engraved S-2 AMERICA New Cumberland Collection #35435.98/47954234. Ex-D&S Coins on 12/31/98 via Tom Reynolds. Thank you for checking out this item!
